GENEVA, N.Y. – The No. 4 seeded Neumann University men's ice hockey team's season came to an end in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West semifinal action, 3-0, at No. 6/5 Hobart College, No. 1 seed, on Saturday evening.
Hobart opened the scoring just 1:11 into the game, and that proved to be enough. The Statesmen added an insurance goal with 1:29 left in regulation and then sealed the win with an empty net goal with 13 ticks left on the clock.
Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.
Mitch Wiebe made 45 saves in net as Hobart outshot Neumann 48-27.
Hobart advances to the ECAC West Championship game and will host Utica, who defeated Manhattanville 4-3 in overtime.
Neumann finishes its season 15-9-3 overall.
