ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Cairn University 77-34 on Wednesday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

JoHanna Metzger notched a double-double, scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Lauren Legler also had 16 points, and AAliya Hayes netted 15. Nine Knights contributed points in the win.

The Highlanders scored the first points of the game, but the Knights answered with a 19-0 run and finished the quarter with a 30-7 lead.

With just under six minutes left to play in the second quarter, Cairn was not able to find the basket for the rest of the half while Neumann ended with 16 straight points to extend its lead to 53-13 going into halftime.

The Knights continued their dominance in the third quarter, extending their lead as high as 54, 71-17.

The Highlanders didn't go quietly in the fourth, as they scored the first seven points of the quarter and outscored Neumann 13-6. The Knights used the lead built during the first three quarters to come away with the 77-34 win.

Neumann (10-10, 8-3 CSAC) will host Rosemont on Saturday afternoon for CSAC action starting at 1:00 PM.
