BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of close games to No. 19 Moravian College on Tuesday afternoon. Game scores were 2-1 and 3-0.
In the first game, all runs were scored in the sixth inning.
Julia Malseed reached base on an error to open the inning. She moved to second on a sacrifice by
Jackie Schneider and scored on an RBI double by
Becky Guinto.
The Greyhounds hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the sixth to take the 2-1 lead.
Haley Broomell pitched the complete game, allowing the two runs on five hits. She struck out a pair.
In game two, Moravian put two runs on the board with another two-run homerun, this time in the second inning. The Greyhounds added another run in the fourth for the 3-0 final.
Michaela Pembleton started the game and went 4.1 innings. She allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out three.
Taylor Naman went 1.2 innings and allowed just one hit.
Neumann (3-9) will head to Rowan next Thursday for a pair of non-conference games beginning at 2:00 PM.
