GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of games at Rowan University on Thursday afternoon. Game scores were 9-0 and 10-0, both in five innings.
In game one, the Knights were held to one hit when
Kendall Boardman knocked a double to left field to lead off the third inning.
Michaela Pembleton started the game and went 3.0 innings in the circle. She allowed four runs on five hits and struck out four.
Taylor Naman pitched the fourth inning.
In the seconds game,
Haley Broomell pitched a complete game, allowing 10 runs, eight earned, on nine hits.
Kara Grogan led the game off with a walk and advanced to second on a single by
Marisa Giordano.
Julia Cox traded places with Giordano on a fielder's choice, but was stranded on base with Grogan.
Melissa Rozumalski and
Danielle Grayson also had hits for the Knights, but could not get a run across.
Neumann (3-11) will play its first home game when it hosts Rosemont next Friday. The game also starts conference action. First pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
