ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team fell to Hood College 19-6 on Wednesday afternoon.
Jeremy Pierson scored two goals for the Knights.
Sergio Plesati had a goal and an assist.
Xavier Glanzel,
Adam Fagan, and
Ron Lassiter added a goal apiece.
Antonio Gibson started in net. He made 25 saves and picked up 14 ground balls.
After three straight goals by the Blazers, Lassiter put the Knights on the board with 3:41 left to play in the first quarter. Hood added another goal to lead 4-1 after the first 15 minutes.
The Blazers added six goals in the second quarter to lead 10-1 at halftime.
Hood started off the third quarter with five goals to increase their lead to 14, but Neumann gained some momentum and scored three straight goals to decrease its deficit. At the 6:40 mark, Glanzel netted a goal. Just 40 seconds later, Pierson found the back of the net. Fagan's goal wrapped up the third quarter at 15-4.
The Knights concluded the fourth quarter with a pair of goals. Plesati scored with 1:27 left to play, and Pierson added his second goal of the game with 10 seconds left to make it 19-6.
Neumann (0-3) will next host Bard College on Tuesday, March 22. Face-off is slated for 4:00 PM.
