GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team, the No. 5 seed, edged Arcadia University, No. 4 seed, 86-83 on Wednesday evening in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South first round game. 
DeShawn Lowman netted 25 points to lead four Knights in double-digits. 
Denzel Yard connected on five three-pointers and finished with 21 points. 
Tyaire Hudson netted 16 points and 
Darian Barnes added 14. Yard and Barnes each blocked a pair of shots. Yard and Hudson handed out six assists a piece. 
The teams opened the game by exchanging three-pointers and were tied at six just over a minute into the game. This was fitting as the game featured 10 tied scores and 10 lead changes. Neumann then went on an 8-1 run to take a 14-7 advantage. Arcadia then came back and tied the game at 18 with 11:33 left in the first half. 
With 4:46 left in the first, and the teams tied at 31, Arcadia went on an 11-4 run to take a 42-35 lead. Lowman hit the last basket of the half with seven seconds left and Arcadia took a 51-45 lead into halftime. 
Neumann began to chip into Arcadia's lead and 
James Butler hit back-to-back baskets to tie the game at 57 with 15:01 left in regulation. The teams tied for the ninth time with 9:37 left in the second half. Neumann then built up a nine-point lead, 78-69, with 6:46 on the clock. Arcadia came back and knotted the game at 80 and the game came down to the final three minutes. 
Lowman hit a jumper with 2:05 on the clock for a two point lead. Arcadia then hit its 13
th three-pointer of the game. Arcadia had a chance for a four-point play, but it missed its free throw. After each team missed a chance to score, Lowman had the ball again and hit a three-pointer to take back the lead, 85-83. 
Each team took a timeout and when play started again, Arcadia turned the ball over. Arcadia fouled Lowman, who hit 1-of-2 from the line for a three-point advantage. Arcadia had the ball back with six second and took a last second three-pointer to try and tie the game, but it did not fall and Neumann hung on for the win. 
Neumann (20-8) will face No. 1 seeded DeSales on Saturday in an ECAC South semifinal match-up beginning at 1:00 PM in Center Valley. No. 2 seeded Swarthmore and No. 3 seeded Penn State Behrend will tip-off in the other semifinal game at 3:00 PM. The winner will face each other in the ECAC South Championship game on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
