Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Close CSAC Contest

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team fell to Keystone College 9-8 on Thursday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
 
Tylar Schlimme and Ryan Lee led the Knights with two goals apiece. Schlimme also picked up nine ground balls. Ricky Viscuse, Adam Fagan, Sergio Plesati, and Ron Lassiter each added a goal. Antonio Gibson started in net and made 14 saves.
 
Lee put the Knights on the board with a goal five minutes into the first quarter. Keystone answered back with a goal less than a minute later to tie the game at one. The 1-1 tie held for the rest of the first quarter.
 
The Knights scored two straight goals in the first 10 minutes of the second quarter to take a 3-1 lead over the Giants. Viscuse found the back of the net at 11:46 and Schlimme scored with 5:18 left to play in the half. Keystone closed out the first half with three straight goals to take a 4-3 lead going into halftime.
 
Coming out of halftime, Keystone continued its consecutive goals, netting two more for a 6-3 lead. Schlimme found the back of the net stop the Giants run at five and decrease Neumann's deficit to two. After an additional goal by Keystone, Lassiter closed out the third quarter with a goal to again bring Neumann to within two.
 
Both teams exchanged goals in the fourth quarter. Neumann outscored Keystone in the fourth 3-2 with goals by Plesati, Fagan and Lee, but it only brought the Knights to within one goal of the Giants. Despite a good drive up the field in the final seconds of the game, Neumann couldn't tie the game and fell 9-8.
 
Neumann (1-7, 0-3 CSAC) will host Immaculata University on Saturday. Face-off is slated to begin at 2:00 PM.
