ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at a tri-match in St. David's on Saturday. The Knights fell to Johns Hopkins 3-0 and Eastern 3-1.
Against Johns Hopkins,
Hayley Glah led the Knights with nine kills.
Rachel Cray handed out 19 assists.
Nikki Collevechio tallied nine digs.
With the score tied at four in the first set, the Blue Jays went on to score nine straight points for a 13-4 lead. In the second set, the Knights stayed close and was down by one, 16-15, before Johns Hopkins went on a run to take set two. The third set was much like the second set, and the Blue Jays came away with the three set win.
Against Eastern,
Melanie Malseed notched nine kills while Glah and Rachel Hoffman each added eight. Cray dished out 27 assists. Collevechio had 19 digs while Cray tallied 13 and
Bianca Harbold added 10.
The Knights battled back in set two to take one set in the match. Early on, Neumann was down early and came back to take set two 28-26.
Neumann (1-5) will open conference action this Thursday when it travel to Cabrini. Action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
