Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Stung by Yellow Jackets

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team fell Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action 6-2 to Randolph-Macon College.

The Knights started slowly, conceding the game's opening two goals in the first five minutes. Neumann would respond in the 17th minute as Billy Swontek headed home the rebound of a Christian Cortese shot to bring the team back within one. That was as close as the Knights would get though, as the Yellow Jackets found the back of the net in the 34th minute to regain their two goal advantage.

The second half saw Randolph-Macon pull away, adding three more goals to its total. Junior Jon Cobb would tally a goal late for Neumann on an assist from Josh Hendrickson, but it was too little, too late for the Knights.

Shane Smith made four saves in net in the start for the Knights Perry Corsetti added two saves in 27 minutes in relief.

Neumann (2-5) will look to bounce back in its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener on Saturday, September 24th at Immaculata University. Kick-off is set for 3:30 PM.
