IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team fell 1-0 in its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener at Immaculata University Saturday afternoon.
The Knights controlled play in the first half, registering several close opportunities but could not find the back of the net. The teams would head into halftime tied at 0-0. Shots were tied 4-4, but Neumann held a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
The second half would see both teams have several opportunities to break the deadlock, but the game would remain tied until the final minute. An Immaculata forward found his way in behind Neumann's backline and would score with just 28 seconds left to seal the win. Shots were tied 11-11 in the half.
Shane Smith made eight saves for Neumann in the loss.
Jake McDevitt led the Knights with four shots on the day.
The Knights return to action next Wednesday, September 28
th as they head to Eastern University for a non-conference matchup. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
