ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team won their third consecutive game and second straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup 3-1 over Rosemont College on Tuesday afternoon.
Lexi Casper led the way for the Knights, registering a goal and an assist. The senior also notched a team high six shots during the contest. Also scoring for Neumann were
Brooke Harvey and
Grace Stauffer. Goalie
Anna Attardi notched the win in goal, recording five saves for her fifth win of the season.
The game did not start as planned, as Rosemont jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 31
st minute. Neumann would level the score just three minutes later though, as Stauffer knocked home a cross from Lindsay Padilla. The match would head to the halftime break knotted at 1-1, with the Knights holding a 10-6 edge in shots.
The second half would be all Neumann, as the Knights found the back of the net twice to seal the win. In the 58
th minute, Casper played a beautiful corner that was headed home by Harvey to give the Knights a lead they would not relinquish. Casper tacked on Neumann's third goal in the 67
th minute on a free kick to finalize the scoring. The Knights finished the match with an 18-11 advantage in shots.
Neumann (5-4, (2-1 CSAC)) is next in action this Saturday, October 1
st as it hosts CSAC rival Cabrini University. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
