ASTON, Pa. – The No. 23 Neumann University men's basketball team had five players score in double-figures in an 87-47 win over Clarks Summit University on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
DeShawn Lowman led the Knights with 23 points.
Carl Wallace tallied a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Darian Barnes also notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.
Billy Cassidy hit four three-pointers for 12 points.
DeAndre Williams added 10 points.
The first part of the game went back and forth with seven tied scores. With the teams knotted at 16, Cassidy hit one of his shots from downtown to start the Knights on a 15-5 run to take a 10 point lead, 31-21. The Defenders answered by scoring eight of the next 10 points to get back to within four, 33-29. Over the final 1:38 of the half, Neumann scored 11 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. As the final second ticked off the clock, Wallace shot from midcourt and sank the ball as the buzzer sounded to give the Knights a 50-31 lead heading into halftime.
The Knights came out of the locker room and went on a 13-5 run over the first four minutes to increase their lead to 27, 63-36. Neumann continued to build its lead throughout the second half to come away with the 87-47 win.
Neumann (16-1, 10-0 CSAC) will head to Keystone College for road CSAC action on Wednesday evening. The game is slated to begin following the women's game at 8:00 PM.
