Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Ice Hockey Makes it Two in a Row Over Post

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team followed up yesterday's dominating performance with another outstanding effort in a 9-0 victory over Post University.

For the second day in a row, Neumann's top line of Grace Klienbach, Kelly Fox, and Bek Lucas was unstoppable. Fox led the Knights today, notching five points on a goal and four assists. Lucas registered a pair of goals and an assist, while Klienbach tallied a goal and two assists of her own. Lauren Vanstone, Halle Crane, Jillian Crane, Jordyn Cholish and Zoe Harkins also found the back of the net for Neumann. Helen Cooney made six saves in net to pick up the shutout win.

This afternoon's game would follow a similar script to the two team's previous matchup, as the Knights took control of the play early on scoring three goals in the game's first seven minutes. Klienbach opened the scoring for her fourth goal of the weekend, followed by tallies from Harkins and Jillian Crane. Lucas would put an exclamation point on the period at the 11:37 mark, scoring a power play goal to give the Knights a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Shots for the period would finish 32-2 in favor of Neumann.

Neumann would continue to dominate play in the second period, notching four more goals to take a commanding 8-0 lead. All four goals would come in the second half of the period, as Cholish, Fox, Lucas and Halle Crane all tallied for the Knights. Crane's goal would be the first of her career, as she matched her sister's first career goal from yesterday's game.

The Knights continued to pepper the Eagles goal in the third period, but would only generate one goal. Vanstone scored at the 6:20 mark of the period to put the finishing touch on the 9-0 win. Neumann would finish the game with a 94-6 edge in shots.

Neumann (6-7) will be back on the ice next weekend as it hits the road for a pair of games at conference rival SUNY Potsdam. Puck-drop on Friday, January 14th is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
