ASTON, Pa.- The Neumann University women's volleyball team will begin its quest for the 2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship on Thursday when it hosts Keystone College in a semifinal match.
During the regular season, the Giants came to Neumann and defeated the Knights in straight sets, 3-0. Neumann will look to avenge that loss on Thursday to advance to the CSAC Championship match.
The Knights are led by CSAC Defensive Player of the Year
Melanie Malseed. The sophomore played in every match during the regular season and led the Knights with 396 kills. She also added 434 digs, 46 service aces and 24 blocks.
Rachael Hoffman added 300 kills and a team-high 83 blocks, 42 solo.
Shayne Sullivan tallied 266 kills in the 36 matches this season. She added 89 digs and 27 blocks.
Bianca Harbold helped anchor the defensive and led the team with 501 digs. The sophomore also added 43 service aces.
The other semifinal game will feature No. 1 Keystone hosting No. 6 Notre Dame (Md.). The winners will meet on Saturday for the Championship at the highest remaining seed.
