Women’s Volleyball Heads to Cabrini to play for CSAC Championship

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team will head to Cabrini University on Saturday afternoon to play for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship.  
 
During the regular season, the Cavaliers took the match 3-0 with set scores of 28-26, 25-13, 25-22. Melanie Malseed tallied 10 kills for the Knights. Rachel Cray handed out 23 assists and notched 18 digs. Bianca Harbold had 17 digs and Malseed added 14. Bridget Lozier had two solo blocks and three block assists. Malseed added four block assists.
 
Neumann advanced to the Championship match with a 3-0 win over Keystone in the semifinals. Malseed led the Knights with 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.  Cray handed out 33 assists and tallied 11 digs. Malseed added 10 digs. Rachael Hoffman hit .412 and finished with eight kills.
 
The Knights are led by CSAC Defensive Player of the Year Malseed. The sophomore played in every match during the regular season and leads the Knights with 413 kills. She also has added 444 digs, 48 service aces and 25 blocks. Hoffman added 308 kills and a team-high 86 blocks, 42 solo. Shayne Sullivan tallied 273 and Lozier has 223. Harbold helped anchor the defensive and led the team with 509 digs. Kirsten Longueira has a team-high 56 service aces.
 
The match will get underway at 4:00 PM on Saturday afternoon in Radnor, Pa. The winner will represent the CSAC in the NCAA Tournament.
