LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team rolled to a 77-41 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win at Keystone College on Saturday afternoon.
Lauren Legler and
Mariah Maciejewski led four Knights in double-digits with 17 points each. Legler went 3-for-3 from the three-point line.
Minika Glenn scored 12 points while
Nafisa Saunders added 11. Ten different Knights put points on the board in the game.
Glenn and
Kara Hignutt each had three blocks and
Shauntel Williams handed out four of the teams 16 assists.
The Knights started the game with a bang and never looked back as they scored 16 of the game's first 18 points. The run also included an 11-0 run got a 16-2 score after the first four minutes. Neumann held as big of a lead of 19, 23-4, in the first 10 minutes and took a 25-8 lead into the second half.
Each team had a run in the second quarter. Neumann started the quarter with an 11-1 run to take a 36-9 lead. Neither team would find the net for the next four minutes. Keystone broke the scoreless drought with a layup and scored the last eight points of the half. The Knights took the 36-17 lead into the break.
The Knights continued to keep the pressure on in the second half and took advantage of the lead build in the first half to cruise to the 77-41 CSAC win.
Neumann (4-3, 2-0 CSAC) will head to Rutgers-Camden on Monday as it continues its four-game road trip. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
