PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team wrapped up the 2016-17 season with a 5-1 win at Chatham University on Saturday in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West action.
Seniors
Kelly Fox and
Grace Klienbach each had a goal and two assists in the game.
Bek Lucas scored twice for the Knights.
Julia Fair made 28 saves in net for the win. Neumann outshot Chatham 35-29.
After a scoreless first period, Neumann put three pucks in the back of the net in the second. Fox scored 5:15 into the period on the power play. Klienbach and
Jordyn Cholish had the assists to put the Knights on the board. Three minutes later Lucas scored off assists from Klienbach and Fox for a 2-0 game. Klienbach followed four minutes later with her goal. Fox assisted and Neumann took the 3-0 lead into the intermission.
Angeline Taiariol gave the Knights a 4-0 advantage 2:41 into the third period.
Mollie Johnson and
Emma Paton had the assists. Lucas scored her second goal of the game, unassisted, four minutes later. The Cougars spoiled the shutout bid with a power play goal at the 14:42 mark.
Neumann finishes its season 7-15-3 overall and 3-12-3 in ECAC West play.
