Men’s Basketball to Face Rosemont in CSAC Semifinal

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team will host Rosemont College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up on Wednesday evening.
 
The Knights are the No. 1 seed in the postseason, finishing CSAC action 17-1 and 23-2 overall. Neumann is also ranked No. 15 in the latest D3hoops.com poll.
 
Darian Barnes was named the CSAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday. Barnes and DeShawn Lowman both received first team honors and Carl Wallace was named to the second team. Head Coach Jim Rullo was voted the CSAC Coach of the Year.
 
Rosemont, the No. 4 seeded team, defeated Immaculata on Monday evening, 102-78, in a first round game. The other semifinal game will feature No. 2 Cabrini hosting No. 3 Gwynedd Mercy.
 
The Ravens handed the Knights their only CSAC loss as the teams split the regular season series with each team winning on their home court. Both games took overtime to decide a winner.
 
In the first contest, Neumann came out on top 85-83. Lowman led the way for Neumann with 26 points and eight rebounds, while Tyaire Hudson tallied 18 points, five rebounds and five assists. Wallace and Barnes were also forces on both sides of the court. Wallace finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while Barnes registered 12 points and nine rebounds.
 
On the road at Rosemont, the Ravens came away with a one point win, 97-76.  DeAndre Williams paced the Knights with 22 points. Barnes and Wallace both added 17 points.
 
The winners of the semifinal games will meet to battle for the CSAC Championship on Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
