Fraser's Nine Goals Carry Men's Lacrosse to Convincing Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team returned home with a vengeance on Tuesday afternoon, picking up a convincing 18-9 victory over visiting SUNY Cobleskill for its second win of the season.

Chase Fraser was absolutely unstoppable on the day for Neumann, scoring nine times in the win. The senior attacker also went 7-for-9 on face-offs, while picking up an assist and eight ground balls. Ryan Lee was also outstanding for Neumann, registering five points of his own on three goals and two assists. Neumann also received a pair of goals from Adam Fagan, as well as a goal each from Xavier Glanzel, Rian King, Harris Walker and Chris Bellon. Brendan Risley picked up his second win of the season in goal, stopping 14 shots.

After three straight road games, the Knights came out ready to play in their first home game in over three weeks. Fraser scored three times in the opening quarter as Neumann blitzed the Fighting Tigers with six straight goals to open the game. The Knights would outshoot SUNY Cobleskill 14-6 in the first frame and carry a 6-0 lead into the second stanza.

The Fighting Tigers would fight back a bit in the second quarter, outscoring Neumann by a count of 4-2 in the period. The Knights would receive goals from Fraser and Lee in the quarter to head to halftime with an 8-4 advantage.

The game would remain relatively close in the third quarter, with both teams trading goals. Fraser did all the damage for the Knights in the period, scoring three times to keep Neumann out in front. SUNY Cobleskill would notch a pair of goals of their own to stay in the game, but the Knights headed to the final frame with a healthy 11-6 lead.

The fourth and final quarter saw the Knights break the game wide open. Neumann tallied seven times in the period and coasted down the stretch to a convincing 18-9 victory. Five different Knights scored in the dominating final period, as Neumann outshot the Fighting Tigers by a total of 17-8. For the game, the Knights would more than double-up SUNY Cobleskill in shots by a count of 60-29.

Neumann (2-4) is back in action this Saturday, March 25th for its first conference matchup of the season versus rival Marywood University. Prior to the game, the Knights will honor their seniors for their dedication to the program over the past four years. Game-time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
