Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Taken Down by Cavaliers

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team saw its three game winning streak come to a halt on Wednesday afternoon with a 22-5 setback to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rival Cabrini University.

Chase Fraser and Adam Fagan each scored twice for Neumann in the loss, while Chris Augustine notched a goal and an assist. Brendan Risley and Antonio Gibson split time in goal on the afternoon, combining for 11 saves on the day.

Cabrini came out fast to start the game, scoring the game's first seven goals to jump out to a commanding 7-0 lead. Fraser scored at the 1:18 mark of the quarter to get a goal back, but the Cavaliers added another tally as time expired in the period to take an 8-1 lead to the second quarter.

The Cavaliers continued to build on their lead in the second stanza. Fagan would score and early goal at the 11:52 mark of the frame, but it would be the lone score of the period for the Knights. Cabrini would add on eight more goals in the quarter to lead by a score of 16-2 at the half.

Neumann played much better defensively in the second half, but it was too little, too late. Despite holding the Cavaliers to only six goals in the half, the Knights only registered three themselves. Fraser, Fagan and Augustine all scored for Neumann in the third quarter, but the Knights would fall by a score of 22-5.

Neumann (5-7, 2-2 CSAC) has the weekend off before returning to action next Wednesday, April 19th versus conference foe Gwynedd Mercy University. Game-time is slated for 7:00 PM.
