GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team kept its streak alive, picking up its fifth straight win with a 19-7 win over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rival Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday afternoon.
Ten different Knights scored in the convincing win, led by a team high four goals from
Taylor Klever.
Kaitlyn Conrad and
Shae Risley added three goals apiece on the afternoon, while Megan McKewen and
Diana Caicedo each tallied twice.
Gabby Curry picked up her fifth straight win in goal, combining with
Becca Wallace to make five saves in the victory.
Neumann wasted no time asserting its dominance in the opening half. The Knights registered the game's first nine goals to take a commanding lead out of the gate, led by two goals apiece from Klever and Conrad. The Griffins would fight back for two goals late in the first frame, but Neumann tacked on four more tallies to head to halftime with a comfortable 13-2 advantage.
The second half saw the Knights continue to widen their lead. Led by Risley's two second half goals, Neumann outscored the Griffins by a count of 7-5 in the stanza to take home the 19-7 win. For the game, the Knights also outshot Gwynedd Mercy 40-15.
Neumann (5-7, 4-1 CSAC) gets back on the field next Tuesday, April 11
th when it hosts conference rival Cabrini University. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
