ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team defeated Immaculata University 2-1 on Thursday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff game.

Becky Guinto knocked in both two runs for the Knights with a double in the fifth inning. Autumn Passarello, Jackie Schneider and Kristina Del Gaiso each had two hits in the game. Jen Sieminski pitched the complete game in the circle for her ninth win of the season. She allowed just one run on three hits and struck out 10.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Del Gaiso and Passarello again hit back-to-back singles with one out. Guinto smashed a double to left center field to score both runners and a 2-0 Knights lead.

The Mighty Macs hit a triple in the sixth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly for a 2-1 game. Sieminski send Immaculata down in order in the seventh, including a strike out to end the game.

Neumann (26-13) will face Cabrini University on Saturday afternoon in the next CSAC Tournament game for a chance to advance to the Championship game. The remainder of the double-elimination tournament will take plat at Marywood University.
