TORONTO, Ontario – Chase Fraser, of the Neumann University men's lacrosse team, was drafted by the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League on Monday evening.
 
He was selected 13^th overall, second in the second round overall, and is the first men's lacrosse player to be drafted from Neumann University.

Fraser was a force to be reckoned with during the 2017 season for the Knights, leading the team in almost every statistical category. The senior attacker led the team in goals (66), points (79), shots (232), ground balls (115), face-off percentage (67%), game-winning goals (3) and man-up goals (10). He also ranked second on the team in assists with 13 on the season.

Fraser's fantastic statistical season was not just the best on Neumann. The senior's 66 goals in 14 games puts him first in NCAA DIII in goals per game (4.74). His 5.64 points per game also places him seventh in the country at the Division III level.

Fraser ranked in the top 20 nationally in several other categories. His 10 man-up goals tied him for 17^th nationally, while his 8.21 ground balls per game planted him 19^th in the country. The senior would also rank in the top-20 nationally in face-off percentage (67%) but he fell just shy of the minimum criteria set by the NCAA. They require a player to take a minimum of 40% of a team's face-offs, while Fraser took just 35% of the Knights' draws on the season.

For his excellent season, Fraser was honored by the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) as a first-team performer earlier this spring. The senior was also selected 3^rd overall in the 2017 Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) draft by the Nanaimo Timbermen.
