ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Goucher College on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights opened with a goal 1:33 into the game.
Jess Cirone netted her first collegiate goal as she tapped in a pass from
Taylor Garman.
The Gophers tied the game in the 14
th minute on a penalty kick. Goucher took a 2-1 lead in the 25
th minute and added another goal before halftime for a 3-1 score at the break.
Goucher came out and scored a minute into the second half and capped the scoring three minutes later for the 5-0 final.
Kristen Montgomery started the game and made two saves in net during the first half.
Brittany Cullison made her Neumann debut in the second half and also made two saves.
Neumann (1-1) will host Rutgers-Newark next Wednesday evening. The game is slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
