OAK BLUFFS, Mass. - The Neumann University men's ice hockey team fell in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon, dropping an 8-3 result to Curry College in its second game of the Martha's Vineyard tournament.

Joe Mitchell was the standout for the Knights on the afternoon, scoring all three Knights goals in the loss.
Liam Board recorded assists on all three goals, while
Sammy Bernard made 37 saves in goal.

Mitchell got the scoring started early in the first to put Neumann in front 1-0, but it would be all Curry the rest of the period. The Colonels scored three unanswered goals in the remainder of the frame to take a 3-1 lead into intermission.

Curry would continue to take the play to the Knights into the second stanza, scoring the first two goals of the period to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Mitchell would keep Neumann in the game though, tallying two goals 33 seconds apart to bring the game back to 5-3 heading to the third period.

The Knights fought to get back into the game in the final period of play, but three late goals sealed the win for the Colonels. Shots for the game finished 47-23 in favor of Curry.

Neumann (4-11-1) returns to United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play next weekend when it heads to Chatham University and Lebanon Valley College. Puck-drop at Chatham on Friday evening is scheduled for 8:20 PM.
