The Knights came out ready to play from the opening face-off, controlling play in the first period by doubling up Lebanon Valley in shots (16-8). Two excellent individual efforts gave Neumann a 2-0 lead heading to intermission. First
Steph Grundy weaved her way through three Flying Dutchman defenders on her way to a goal at the 8:37 mark, then Schneider intercepted a neutral zone pass and finished off a breakaway to put the Knights up by a pair.
Â
Neumann would break the game wide open early in the second frame with two more goals scored just 17 seconds apart.
Emma Paton banged home a Brown pass just over six minutes into the period before Schneider finished off an excellent passing sequence from Lucas and
Claudia Trionfo to give the Knights a 4-0 lead. Brown would also add a fifth goal late in the stanza, jamming home a loose puck in the crease to build the lead to five headed to the final period of play.
Â
The hosts continued their dominating performance in the third by tacking on two more tallies. Prance scored early in the period and Lucas punctuated the game with a snipe from the slot for her 100th career point. Shots in the game finished at 53-15 in favor of the Knights.
