CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team got back into the win column on Saturday afternoon, recording a dominating 100-50 road victory at Clarks Summit University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Gemil Holbrook led the way for the Knights in the convincing win, picking up a team-leading 25 points and eight rebounds.
Billy Cassidy chipped in with 22 points on 6-for-10 three-point shooting, while
Tyaire Hudson registered 15 points and six assists.
Neumann controlled play from the opening tip, dominating the Defenders throughout the contest. The Knights shot a scorching 57.4% from the field and led from wire-to-wire. Holbrook (13 points) and Hudson (11 points) were excellent in the opening 20 minutes of play, scoring 24 of the Knights 50 points in the first half on the way to a 50-25 advantage headed into halftime.
The visitors continued to build their lead in the second half, led by 16 points from Cassidy. The senior guard nailed all four three-pointers he attempted in the period and added a pair of assists as the Knights sealed the comfortable win.
Neumann (12-4, 7-3 CSAC) returns to the court on Monday, January 22
nd for a home CSAC rematch versus Cabrini University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
