ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up a 69-55 win over Immaculata University on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Lauren Legler led all scorers with 21 points.
Nafisa Saunders added 18 points and
Minika Glenn netted 16.
Mariah Maciejewski tallied 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Maciejewski scored the first basket of the game and the Knights never looked back as they went on to score the first eight points of the contest. Neumann would hold a 14-8 lead after the first quarter.
As the teams headed towards halftime, the Mighty Macs chipped their way back to within three, 22-19. The Knights answered with a 13-6 run in the final two minutes to take a 35-25 lead into the break, Legler capped the first half scoring with a buzzer beater for the double-digit lead.
The Knights outscored the Mighty Macs 24-13 in the third quarter to build a 59-39 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Immaculata attempted to chip their way back into the game in the fourth quarter, but Neumann used the lead built earlier to come away with the 69-55 win.
Neumann (8-4, 3-0 CSAC) will host Clarks Summit in CSAC action on Saturday afternoon. Action is slated to get underway at 1:00 PM.
