BALTIMORE, Md. – The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up an 85-58 win at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Tuesday evening.
Nafisa Saunders led the Knights with 20 points.
Minika Glenn tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Mariah Maciejewski also grabbed 10 boards.
Shauntel Williams opened the game with a three-pointer as the Knights scored the first eight points of the contest. Neumann went on to score 14 of the first 16 points for a 14-2 lead midway through the first quarter. The Gators then went on an 8-1 run to cut into the lead and a 15-10 score. Neumann held a 22-15 score after the first 10 minutes.
The Knights opened the second quarter on a 10-2 run to jump out to a 32-17 lead. Neumann would continue to build its lead and reached a 20 point advantage, 45-25, on a free throw by Saunders. The Knights held a 47-31 advantage at halftime.
The Knights used the lead built in the first half to cruise in the second half en route to the win and remain undefeated in conference play.
Neumann (10-4, 5-0 CSAC) will return home on Thursday to host Cairn University for a CSAC doubleheader with the men. Action is slated to get underway at 6:00 PM.
