SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to Marywood University, 4-1, in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first 20 minutes of the game, the Pacers netted three goals before halftime, including in the final seconds on a penalty corner.
The Knights got on the board in the 67
th minute as
Kelly Rodgers scored off and assist from
Colleen Hoy. Marywood replied less than two minutes later with an insurance goal, making it 4-1.
Lizzie Yu made five saves in goal for the Knights. The Knights outshot the Pacers 22-12 overall and 13-9 on net, but could not solve the keeper more than once.
Neumann (6-6, 2-1 Atlantic East) will return home after four road games on Wednesday. The Knights will host Wesley in Atlantic East action and will celebrate senior day as part of the game festivities. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
