ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 double overtime win against Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Before the game, the Knights honored their lone senior on the team,
Taylor Garman.
Garman set up Neumann's first goal of the game. Down by one and with 1:16 left in the first half, Garman took a free kick just over midfield.
Kaitlin Thomas found the ball and put it in the back of the net. The goal was the freshman's 11
th of the season, setting the programs season record. She also is now the program-leader for points on a season, currently at 25.
The Mighty Macs scored their goal in the 37
th minute on a free kick 30 yards out.
The teams then played a scoreless second half and first overtime. Midway through the second overtime,
Belle Hughes headed in a corner kick from
Carissa Britton, who continues to add to her team-high assists and program season record, to give the Knights the 2-1 double overtime win.
The Knights outshot the Mighty Macs 25-18 overall in the game and 18-3 on net.
Anna Attardi made two saves in net for the win.
Neumann (7-7-1, 2-2-1 Atlantic East) will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday when it hosts Marywood in an Atlantic East Conference contests. Action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
