ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team blanked Marywood University 5-0 in the final Atlantic East Conference regular season game.
Kaitlin Thomas netted four goals for the Knights, a women's soccer single-game record, and increased her program-setting goals to 15 this season. She also led the team with six shots on net.
Danni Elman tallied three shots on net and scored the fifth goal of the game.
Anna Attardi made seven saves in net for the shutout.
Thomas put the Knights on the board with two goals back-to- back in the 12
th minute. Thomas then netted a hat trick in the 28
th minute. Neumann took the 3-0 lead into halftime.
Thomas wasn't finished and netted her fourth goal of the game in the 73
rd minute. Elman sealed the win with a goal in the 87
th minute.
The Pacers outshot Neumann 16-11 overall, but the Knights outshot Marywood 10-7 on goal.
Neumann (8-7-1, 3-2-1 Atlantic East) will be the No. 3 seed in the postseason and will begin the postseason on Monday, October 29.
