ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University women's soccer team battled to a 4-4 tie to open Atlantic East Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Marymount University.
 
The Saints found the back of the net first and took a 3-0 lead after the first half.
 
The Knights got on the board in the 50
th minute as 
Jess Cirone scored. Just over a minute later, 
Kaitlin Thomas pulled Neumann to within one, 3-2. 
Tina Tarantino netted the tying goal in the 74
th minute.
 
The tie was short lived as Marymount took back the lead four minutes later. With time winding down, the Knights had a corner kick. As the buzzer was about the sound, 
Morgan Ryan knocked the ball into the net off of the corner from 
Carissa Britton to tie the game at four.
 
The teams played 20 minutes of scoreless overtime action.
 
Erin Ridler made her first start in net and made three saves. The Knights outshot the Saints 20-14 overall and 9-7 on net.
 
Neumann (5-5-1, 0-0-1 Atlantic East) will host Wesley on Saturday for more Atlantic East action beginning at 1:00 PM.
