Field Hockey Heads to Gwynedd Mercy for Atlantic East Semifinal Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey defeated Cabrini University 4-3 in overtime in the Atlantic East Conference first round on Monday to advance to the semifinals.
 
In the win over the Cavaliers, Sam Picker scored with 2:10 left in the first overtime to give the Knights the win. Chelsea Kulesza had two goals and an assist in the game. Lizzie Yu made eight saves in net.
 
The No. 4 seeded Knights will now head to No. 1 seeded Gwynedd Mercy for a semifinals match-up. The two teams met just a week ago in the final conference game of the regular season. The Griffins came away with the 2-0 win.
 
For the season, Kulesza leads the team with 11 goals, four of which are game-winners. Sam Picker has added five goals, three game-winners, and leads the team with six assists. Colleen Hoy has added four goals.
 
Lizzie Yu has played in 14 games in the cage, starting 13. She has a 1.92 goals-against-average and has made 84 saves. Mary Miller has a 1.10 goals-against-average in three games and has made 20 saves.
 
In the other first round game, No. 3 Marywood defeated No. 6 Immaculata, 4-2 to advance. Marywood will travel to Wesley for the other semifinal game on Wednesday. The winners of the semifinal games will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday for the first Atlantic East Championship.
