WILKES BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball fell to King's (Pa.) College 77-57 on Saturday afternoon.
Nafisa Saunders continues to lead the Knights as she netted 21 points in the game.
Minika Glenn added 14 points. Both players grabbed seven rebounds.
The Lady Monarchs started the game scoring 12 of the first 16 points of the contest. The Knights answered with an 11-2 run to take a 15-14 lead. King's took a run of its own to retake the lead and took a 25-20 lead after the first quarter.
King's built a double-digit lead in the second quarter and held a 44-29 advantage at the break. The Lady Monarchs continued to build their lead in third quarter and took a 66-40 lead into the final 10 minutes.
The Knights were able to chip away some of the Lady Monarchs lead in the fourth quarter, but the lead was too great to overcome.
Neumann (4-2) will return home and open Atlantic East Conference play against Marymount University next Saturday. The women will tip-off at 1:00 PM with the men following at 3:00 PM in the conference doubleheader.
