ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's basketball fell in its final game before the holiday break on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 78-54 result in non-conference action to visiting Salisbury University.

Nafisa Saunders was the lone Knight in double figures for Neumann on the day with 14 points, while
Mariah Maciejewski tallied eight points and nine rebounds.

Salisbury controlled the contest from wire to wire in the non-conference matinee. The Knights kept the game close early though, trailing by just three after one quarter of play. Saunders rattled home a bucket as time expired in the period to bring the score to 16-13 heading to the second frame.

Neumann tried its best to stay in the game in the second quarter, but a balanced Sea Gull attack blew the game wide open. Salisbury doubled up the Knights 26-13 in the period and headed to halftime with a comfortable 42-26 lead.

The Knights attempted to claw back into the contest after halftime, but the closest they could cut the lead to was 14 points with 8:39 remaining in the 3rd quarter. Salisbury continued its solid play throughout the remainder of the period and took a 63-43 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Sea Gills cruised from there, outscoring Neumann by a count of 15-11 in the final frame to take home the comfortable 78-54 victory.

Neumann (6-4, 0-1 Atlantic East) will return to the court on Saturday, December 29th when the team plays St. Joseph's College at the Catholic University Tournament. Tip-off for the non-conference game is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
