WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell the Catholic University of America 67-44 on Sunday afternoon in the Championship game of the Jamie Roberts – Fairfield Inn Tournament.
 
Nafisa Saunders and Mariah Maciejewski were named to the All-Tournament team. Saunders netted 15 in the game while Maciejewski pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
The Cardinals led wire-to-wire in the game, including scoring 10 of the first 12 points over the first three minutes. Catholic led 23-15 after the first 10 minutes. A three-pointer by Maia Bryson pulled the Knights to within four, 25-21, but they could not get any closer. The Cardinals answered all Knights baskets and took a 36-31 lead into halftime.
 
Catholic scored the first seven points of the third quarter and put the game out of reach. The Cardinals continued to build their lead throughout the rest of regulation to come away with the win.
 
Neumann (7-5) will head to Rosemont for the first game of 2019 on Thursday evening. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM in the non-conference contest.
