ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team fell in a pair of matches in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon with No. 8 Kean University and Misericordia University.
In the first match of the day, the Knights battled No. 8 Kean in a Continental Volleyball Conference match up. Set scores were 25-20, 25-7 and 25-8.
Roddy Rountree tallied seven kills.
Tomas Ybarra handed out 13 assists.
In the first set,
Pat Morgan served the Knights to a 3-0 early lead. The teams went back and forth as the Knights remained a few points ahead of the Cougars. With a 19-17 Neumann lead, Kean went on to score six straight points to take a 23-19 advantage. The Cougars took the first set 25-20 and then cruised to the wins in the second and third sets.
In the final match of the day, Neumann fell to Misericordia 3-0 in non-conference action. Rountree notched eight kills. Ybarra dished out 12 assists. In all three sets, the Cougars steadily increased their lead en route to the three set win.
Neumann (0-14, 0-6 CVC) will head to Juniata on Friday for more CVC action beginning at 7:00 PM.
