ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball used a big second half to come away with an 89-65 win at Rosemont College on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Nafisa Saunders led the Knights with 36 points as she went 22-for-25 from the charity stripe.
Minika Glenn tallied 17 and
Lauren Legler added 12. From the line, the team for 82.4% (28-for-34).
The teams went back and forth in the first quarter with the largest lead being only five. The Ravens hit two free throws just before the end of the quarter and took a four point advantage, 21-17, after the first 10 minutes.
The Ravens built a double-digit lead early in the second quarter. The Knights battled back and tied the game at 30 with 4:14 remaining before halftime. Rosemont held a two point advantage, 38-36, at the break.
The Knights started to make their move in the third quarter and netted 28 points while holding the Ravens to just nine points. Neumann came out of the break and scored the first 11 points of the half to take a 47-38 lead. The Knights continued with the pressure and reached a 20 point advantage, 65-45, with just over two minutes left before the fourth quarter. Neumann scored 13 of the final 15 points of the quarter and took a 74-47 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
The Knights kept a 20+ point lead throughout the fourth quarter en route to the win.
Neumann (16-6, 11-2 CSAC) will continue on the road and head to Cedar Crest on Saturday for a CSAC match-up beginning at 1:00 PM.
