ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's tennis team continued to roll in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Tuesday afternoon, picking up its fourth consecutive conference win by a score of 7-2 over Gwynedd Mercy University.
The match remained close throughout doubles competition, as Neumann took two of the three contests to jump out to a 2-1 lead. The Griffins were victorious at first doubles, but the pair of
Jordan Collins and
Christian Cortese won for Neumann at second doubles (8-1), while the duo of
Perry Corsetti and
Jake McDevitt took home a win at third doubles (8-6).
The Knights would open things up in singles competition, winning five of the six matches to cruise to the comfortable 7-2 win. Collins and Cortese both recorded their second match wins of the afternoon at third and fifth singles respectively, while
Daniel Rival,
Evan King and
Billy Swontek were also victorious.
Neumann (5-2, 4-1 CSAC) will be right back in action tomorrow afternoon when the team heads to Penn State Brandywine. The non-conference match is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
