MEDIA, Pa. – After picking up a win yesterday over Gwynedd Mercy University, the Neumann University men's tennis team wasted no time getting back to action, returning to the court today with a 6-3 win in non-conference play over Penn-State Brandywine.
Daniel Rival and
Billy Swontek were the stars of the match for the Knights, each picking up a pair of wins on the afternoon.
The Knights opened doubles play by taking two of three matches to take an early 2-1 lead. Rival and partner
Jake McDevitt were victorious at first doubles by a score of 8-5, while Swontek and partner
Evan King took home an 8-4 win at third doubles.
As the match moved to singles play, Rival and Swontek continued their outstanding play. Rival won at first singles (6-1, 6-1), Swontek won at fourth singles (6-4, 6-1) and
Jordan Collins,
Christian Cortese and
Perry Corsetti also picked up wins for the Knights.
Neumann (6-2, 4-1 CSAC) will get back to the court this weekend for a matchup with rival Cabrini University on Saturday, April 14
th. The match is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
