LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team split a pair of games at Keystone College on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The Knights won the first game 5-1 while the Giants took game two 5-4.
In the first game,
Jackie Schneider went 3-for-4 and knocked in a pair of runs.
Kierstin Fallers was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
Jen Sieminski got the win, going 7.0 innings. She allowed one run on six hits and struck out four.
Neumann got on the board with a run in the first as
Rachel Albertson walked and scored on an error. Fallers and Schneider hit back-to-back doubles in the third inning as the Knights took a 3-0 lead.
The Giants scored their run in the bottom of the sixth. Fallers scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh after she reached on an error.
In the second game, Fallers went 4-for-4 with two RBI and a homerun.
Grace Sperrazza and
Kristina Del Gaiso each had two hits.
Taylor Naman started the game and allowed five runs on eight hits.
Julia Casson went 2.0 scoreless inning and allowed three hits.
The Knights put a run on the board in the top of the third as Schneider knocked in Albertson with a single. Keystone answered with three runs in the third and two in the fourth for a 5-1 score.
Fallers hit a two-run long ball in the fifth inning, scoring
Bri Lagroteria. Sperrazza knocked in Del Gaiso in the sixth inning for a 5-4 game. The Knights had two hits in the top of the seventh, but could not get the tying run across the plate.
Neumann (15-12, 11-3 CSAC) will host Clarks Summit tomorrow afternoon for a CSAC doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
