GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 19-2 loss in non-conference action at Rowan University on Thursday evening.
Calie Swegon and
Meghan McKewen scored for the Knights, while
Gabby Curry made 11 saves in goal in the loss.
Rowan wasted no time asserting its dominance in the non-conference matchup. The Profs scored nine times in the game's first ten minutes and 14 times overall in the first-halftime cruise to a comfortable 14-1 lead at the half. McKewen was the lone goal scorer for Neumann in the first frame, finding the back of the net with 41 seconds left in the period.
The hosts continued to play well in the second half, outscoring the Knights by a count of 5-1 in the frame. Swegon scored for Neumann in the period but it would not be enough, as the Profs took home the 19-2 win.
Neumann (9-8, 5-3 CSAC) will look to rebound this Saturday, April 28th when it takes on Keystone College in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs. Game-time is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
