Fallers Homers, but Knights Fall at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games at Stockton University on Monday afternoon by scores of 5-4 and 11-3.
 
In the first game, Kierstin Fallers scored the first run for the Knights after she doubled and scored on an RBI single by Jackie Schneider. In the third inning, Fallers hit a two-run homerun, scoring Rachel Albertson. Taylor Sirolli knocked in Schneider later in the inning and Neumann held a 4-0 lead.
 
Stockton got one run back in the bottom of the third and then batted around and scored four runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead. Schneider hit a double in the top of the seventh inning, but she was stranded at third base.
 
Jen Sieminski pitched a complete game in the loss. She allowed five runs on 11 hits and struck out three.
 
In game two, Neumann scored three unearned runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Julia Cox knocked in a pair with a single. Stockton scored two runs in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to one.
 
The Ospreys then plated nine runs in the fifth inning to take the game 11-3 in five innings.
 
Taylor Naman went 4.2 innings and allowed 11 runs in 12 hits.
 
Neumann (11-6) is right back on the field tomorrow as it hosts Alvernia for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
