ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup at home on Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 4-0 to Centenary University.
 
Junior keeper Anna Attardi made nine saves in goal in the loss, while freshman forward Kaitlyn Thomas led the Knights with four shots on goal.
 
Neumann looked to get back in the win column after a loss at Rutgers Camden earlier in the week, but it would be Centenary who would be the aggressor early in the match. The Cyclones registered 10 shots in the opening half of play and found the game's first goal in the 19th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Knights could muster only one shot in the period and found themselves trailing by a goal at the break.
 
The hosts looked to get back into the game in the second half, but Centenary killed off any hope of a comeback with three more goals in a 17 minute span midway through the frame. Neumann generated a few solid chances with six shots in the period, but the Knights could not capitalize on their opportunities as they fell by a score of 4-0.
 
Neumann (2-4) will look to regroup before returning to the field next Tuesday, September 18th for an away contest at Keystone College. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
