ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team lost a hard-fought battle at home to Eastern University on Saturday, 3-1.
The Knights looked to begin a win streak after their win against Keystone on Tuesday afternoon, but the Eagles came out full force with their first goal in the second minute. Eastern then followed through with its second goal two and a half minutes later. During the 16
th minute, the Eagles secured their lead adding a third goal off a corner. The teams battled the rest of the half and Eastern took the 3-0 lead into halftime.
During the second half, the Knights held the Eagles off the board. Neumann broke through in the 87
th minute as
Taylor Garman put the Knights on the board. The senior headed the ball into the net off a corner from,
Carissa Britton.
Danni Elman,
Kaitlin Thomas,
Belle Hughes, and Garman all tallied two shots in the contest.
Anna Attardi, made four saves for the Knights.
Neumann (3-5) will host Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM as part of a doubleheader with the men.
