ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team got back into the win column with a 6-1 win over Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday afternoon.
Taylor Garman netted a hat trick to lead the Knights to victory.
Danni Elman,
Kyra Apaliski, and
Erin Ridler each had a goal for the Knights.
Tina Tarantino and
Carissa Britton tallied two assists apiece.
Anna Attardi made three saves in net.
Garman put the first goal in the back of the net for Neumann in the eighth minute with a shot from outside the 18. Less than four minutes later, Garman tallied her second goal as she headed the ball off a corner kick from Britton. Neumann held the 2-0 lead at the half.
Elman netted the third goal for the Knights as the Lion's goalie misplayed the ball and the junior put the ball in the back of the net in the 43
rd minute.
Bryn Athyn broke the shutout bid in the 80
th minute. The Knights answered right back as Garman completed her hat trick less than a minute later. To wrap up the scoring, freshmen Apaliski and Ridler both netted their first collegiate goals.
The Knights outshot the Lions 30-9 over all and 18-4 on net.
Neumann (4-5) will host Staten Island on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 PM
