SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team dropped an 80-59 decision at Marywood University on Wednesday evening in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
Nafisa Saunders led the Knights with 22 points.
Jaylin Ortiz grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Pacers came out and scored the first seven points of the contest. Midway through the first quarter, Marywood built up a 17-7 advantage. The Pacers held a 24-15 lead after the first 10 minutes.
Midway through the second quarter, a layup by Saunders pulled the Knights to within three, 31-28. The Pacers went on a 12-4 run to end the half to take a 43-32 lead into halftime.
Marywood continued to add onto its lead in the third quarter and led 65-42 heading into the final quarter. The Pacers did not led the Knights back into the game and took the 80-59 conference win.
Neumann (9-7, 2-2 Atlantic East) will host Cabrini University on Saturday. The Atlantic East match-up will begin at 1:00 PM.
