SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team fell to Marywood University in an Atlantic East Conference road contest, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights battled hard against the Pacers to keep them out of their zone, but in the 24th minute the Pacers took advantage of a breakaway to net their first goal of the match.
In the second half, the Pacers used a corner kick opportunity to put their second goal into the back of the net in the 65th minute. In the 73
rd minute, Marywood added an assurance goal off of a cross for the 3-0 score.
The Knights were outshot by the Pacers 16-8 overall and 6-3 on net.
Danni Elman led the team with three shots.
Anna Attardi made three saves in goal.
Neumann (4-8-1, 0-2 Atlantic East) will now prepare to face Marymount at home on Wednesday afternoon. The conference matchup is set to start at 4:00 PM.
