Knights and Saints Play to Rain Soaked Draw

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw with Marymount University on a rain soaked Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Saints scored their two goals in the first half.  As the rain continued to fall in the second half, The Knights kept the pressure on. After a corner kick, Belle Hughes headed the ball into the net off of a rebound in the 58th minute. Hughes tied the game with just over a minute remaining as she once again headed the ball into the net, off a corner kick from Carissa Britton.
 
Anna Attardi made three saves in net. The Knights outshot the Saints 18-7 overall and 7-5 on net. Neumann also tallied 11 corners over Marymount's one.
 
Neumann (4-8-2, 0-2-1 Atlantic East) will host Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. The team will recognize the seniors prior to the game that is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
